In the local indie punk context, there has hardly been a path in recent years that has not led past KOCHKRAFT DURCH KMA from Duisburg-Marxloh.

Whether at numerous own shows or even more festival appearances, or on tours together with bands as diverse as Team Scheisse, Kettcar, Das Lumpenpack, FJØRT or Adam Angst - Kochkraft was always there. And, after sometimes confused first impressions, KOCHKRAFT DURCH KMA are one of those bands that ultimately take every person in the room with them. With the new single "Ehrlich", the band announced their new studio album "Hardcore never dies das" on 23.01.25, which will be released on 11.04.25 via Grand Hotel van Cleef. "Ehrlich" plays to all the strengths of the indie-rave-punks: the danceable synth-beat framework pretends to be light entertainment, but the lyrics grab you by the ears and really shake you up. According to the band, it's about "self-optimization, conservative backlash, permanent crises, turbo capitalism, this and that. Sometimes we too are tired of fighting and need that brief moment between idealism and resignation to say: it's hard enough already!" - Anyone who can't empathize with this probably considers themselves lucky not to be part of our society. But there's no giving up, that much is certain: there's also a lot of optimism and gratitude, and the band also packs this into their new album: "We really banged out a lot last year and played three million concerts. And in the rest of the time, we wrote this album with great people from our scene (Team Scheisse, Das Lumpenpack, The toten Crackhuren im Kofferraum, Das blühende Leben, Mamoré) - it wouldn't have been so great on its own. This proved to us once again that 'together' is always better than 'alone'. Except at the buffet, of course." Music helps and hardcore never does. But so does humor (not). That. With a female voice and few instruments, ELL combines the beauty of a percussion drill with the power of a fragrant cherry blossom. Or vice versa? Who can judge that! Especially if you've never seen this noise-pop duo live. According to the rock band dictionary, Lisa-Anna and Lennart may be understaffed, but they lack absolutely nothing. This has been proven by over 30 shows in their debut year 2022 as a live band. Likeable? "Yep," Authentic? "Oh yes!" Sound? "Huh, how do they do that?!?!" Audiences in German-speaking countries are at ELL's mercy and usually leave shows with a cemented grin, a new hairstyle and that warm, cozy feeling you get when you've been lovingly made a sandwich.
