Five excellent musicians who spend almost every day in the Frankfurt area because they either live there, are members of the hr-Bigband or are professors - reasons enough to form a band from these musicians: "Frankfurt Pentagonium". It could hardly get any better.
All five contribute compositions to the quintet's repertoire and create their own distinctive band sound through their joyful interplay. The group is particularly looking forward to their guest appearance in Darmstadt. The "Frankfurt Pentagonium" is a fresh band project that has only existed for about two years.

Born in Swabia, Axel Schlosser is also the leader of his own projects, including his quartet "To Satch and Duke". He has played trumpet in several editions of the legendary Jazz Baltica Ensemble in recent years and has played with Carla Bley. Denis Gäbel lives in Cologne and is one of the great personal voices on the tenor saxophone in the German jazz scene. Sebastian Sternal is not only in demand throughout Europe as a pianist and composer, he also heads the Jazz and Popular Music Department at the Mainz University of Music as a professor.
Hans Glawischnig on bass is an integral part of the European and American scene. He plays regularly with greats such as Miguel Zenon and Billy Childs. Jean Paul Höchstädter is regarded as a true all-rounder among German drummers and was recently heard with Till Brönner's band.
