A pre-war generation puts its hubris up for discussion

"Didn't they live in the best of all possible worlds?" But then the unspeakable made its way into the present. The serum of the new world order seeped through the thin skin into the veins. Drop by drop - silently and imperceptibly - the temperature of the social body changed. Whistling happily, they lay there defenseless. The senses - distracted ... seduced ... such beautiful, beautiful bubbles rose up. Bubbles - bubbles everywhere. So intoxicatingly beautiful.... bubbles. Bubbles. Plop.plop. Plop.plop.plop.
