The event series "Lost in Music" (named after the cult book by Giles Smith) is all about music in the truest sense of the word. Book publisher Markus Naegele, who once organized the club series "It's a Hardcore Night" at Heyne Hardcore, invites authors, musicians, presenters, actors and other celebrities to read out letters, (auto)biographical texts, articles, novel excerpts and the like from the wide world of pop music. There will be live music from local acts on the fly. Afterwards, DJ friends will play their favorite records and the party can begin.

In October, there will be a "Lost in Music" special, a duel between two special guests. The celebrated Kammerspiel actress Katharina Bach meets Hans Platzgumer, once frontman of the legendary Austrian indie band H.P. Zinker, later with the Goldene Zitronen and countless other music projects and now also a book author.

The performers

Katharina Bach, born in Wuppertal in 1985, first studied philosophy and theater studies at the University of Leipzig before going on to study acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She spent eight years at Schauspiel Frankfurt before moving to the Münchner Kammerspiele in 2020. She performs there with her band bitchboy as a singer in the evening The Fe.male Trail and is united with the visual artist Catharina Szonn as CKgeil. She also works in radio and television.

Hans Platzgumer, born in Innsbruck in 1969, lives in Bregenz. He studied music in Vienna and Los Angeles and, after an international career as a musician (including H.P. Zinker, Die Goldenen Zitronen, Queen of Japan, Convertible), has devoted himself primarily to writing for many years. He publishes novels, literary essays, albums, theater and radio play compositions. "Am Rand" was longlisted for the German Book Prize in 2016. Most recently published: "What Goes Up Must Come Down" (non-fiction, 2025), "Favorite Record" (album, 2025), "Die ungeheure Welt in meinem Kopf" (novel, 2024), "Großes Spiel" (novel, 2023).

Don Marco has been playing in various underground bands since the 90s. As singer, guitarist and songwriter of the indie garage band Fuck Yeah, he released two albums and played with bands such as Maximo Park, Algiers and Frightened Rabbit. As Don Marco & die kleine Freiheit, he released two albums in German with various musicians. 2024 saw the live debut of his new band Drug Stop. He earned his living under the civil name Markus Naegele as publishing director at Heyne Hardcore, most recently as head of the btb Verlag program. From October 2025, he will be working in the editorial department of Kunstmann Verlag.

King Brownie comes from Osnabrück, where he influenced an entire generation musically as a DJ in Hyde Park and supported the likes of Die Ärzte, Stray Cats, Hanoi Rocks, Bo Diddley and the Undertones. He managed Lüde & the Astros for many years and works as a record salesman.
