WHAT IS A ONE-DAY CHOIR?

A One-Day Choir is an opportunity to be part of a choir for a single day - celebrating singing and the unifying power of harmony. It is an opportunity to build community, make new friends and unite our powerful, diverse voices into one.

All are welcome. no previous experience. no concert. no perfection.

Just sing together in a room with people in harmony and create something greater!

Whether you have been singing in vocal ensembles for many years or are singing in a group for the first time, you are welcome here. All levels of experience are valuable and will be considered.

OUR SONG THIS TIME

In this One-Day Choir, we will be focusing on the iconic song "Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson. This moving classic is about self-reflection and the power to change the world by starting with ourselves. It invites us to look honestly at our inner selves and take responsibility, for ourselves and for the community. Together, we want to open up this space in which we can make hope, change and strength tangible. Let's unite our voices and create a powerful choral rendition of the song - arranged by Sarah Sieprath.

REHEARSE THE SONG

Sheet music and vocal recordings for the individual parts will be available as learning material before the event. If you have the time and inclination, take a look and listen to the parts and the original so that we can work musically on the day. It's not at all necessary to know everything by heart (and you definitely don't have to memorize the song!), but the more confident we are with our parts, the more fun we can have together!

LED AND GUIDED BY:

This session will be led by our choir director Sarah Sieprath !

Sarah Sieprath (she/her) is a singer, choir director, singer-songwriter and music teacher. She completed her Master's degree in "Music Education" at the Lübeck University of Music and has been working as a freelance singer and choir director ever since. She has been performing regularly with her vocal band Vox Mandala since 2018 and has already appeared on stage with the renowned King's Singers, among others. In her artistic and educational work, she focuses on the fun of making music together. Sarah knows how to use creative ideas and an open approach to music and people to create inspiring spaces for singing together, expression and connection. She is very much looking forward to leading various One-Day Choir events in the fall to create a musical community.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to attend this gathering - and as spaces are limited, every single one is valuable!
If you sign up but can't make it, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can reallocate the space. Tickets are non-transferable as we need the proceeds to rent the space and pay our wonderful leaders.

The One-Day Choir Collective is a creative community of singing people across Germany. Our mission is to create connecting, playful and accessible spaces for making music together - spaces for expression, growth, freedom and letting go through music. Spaces where we explore the healing potential of collective music and improvisation. Spaces where people can express themselves freely - without judgment or expectation - and where we can meet other people as our authentic selves and make new friends.

Everyone is welcome in this community.

We celebrate people of all ages, backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, religions, physical abilities, social backgrounds, languages and musical levels. All we ask of you is an open mind, a desire to connect - and a willingness to leave any kind of (self-)judgment at the door.

We believe that making music - together with others - is a fundamental human practice. This project creates space for exactly that - especially at a time when such opportunities have become rare.

The One-Day Choir Collective aims to break down the separation between audience and artists and create experiences where we are all part of the musical process. We want to provide a network and platform for people to rediscover themselves musically, connect with each other and unleash their creativity through play and collaboration.
