Tender-noise pop meets indie surf rock. We welcome Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys from Berlin and at the same time celebrate the end of the European tour of the Düsseldorf band Luxury Communism.
Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys are a Berlin-based art-pop and tender-noise ensemble who have been captivating audiences across Europe with their atmospheric and intense performances. Led by South African-born artist Lucy Kruger (guitar and vocals) and featuring Liú Mottes (guitar), Jean-Louise Parker (viola and vocals), Gidon Carmel (drums) and Reuben Kemp (bass), the band's music is both intimate and edgy - at some moments droning and dream-like, at others drivingly direct and on the verge of despair. Lovingly confrontational.
Luxury Communism plays rock somewhere between gentle, cheerful melodies and deafening chaos. Driving beats, soaring guitar riffs and profound lyrics characterize their compositions. With members from different countries - Jack from the UK, Victor from Moldova, Mouloud from Algeria and Düsseldorf-born Natalie - Luxury Communism bring a diverse cultural perspective to their music.
