Lunchkonzert mit dem Ensemble Modern

In the organizer's words:

Come to the ROMANFABRIK for a slightly different lunch break, have a snack and a drink at our bar and experience members of the internationally acclaimed ENSEMBLE MODERN in a 30-minute mini-concert live at lunchtime.

At the third lunchtime concert, horn player Thomas Mittler and Hermann Kretzschmar on the piano will play pieces by Volker David Kirchner (1942-2020), Howard Skempton (*1947) and Hermann Kretzschmar himself. The program this time includes solo works and duos for piano and horn. Volker David Kirchner(Tre Poemi - for horn and piano, 1986/87/89) is a composer who comes from the region, worked as a violist in the hr symphony orchestra and became known primarily as an opera composer. The master of aphorism Howard Skempton, on the other hand, comes from England and is a co-founder of the Scratch Orchestra, which caused a sensation in London in the 1970s with interdisciplinary performances and musical experiments. He can be heard on: Melody for horn (1979), Intermezzo for Hermann Kretzschmar for piano solo (1973) and Prelude for horn (1971). And the Babelsong for horn and piano by Hermann Kretzschmar will be premiered - a reminiscence of a song about the myth of Babel.

The "Leuchtendroter" restaurant will be serving it: Lunch 1 - pumpkin soup with sprouts & pumpkin seed oil, Lunch 2 - onion tart with beet & (vegan) sour cream & and for dessert - tiramisu with apple & cashews.

A neighborhood project by ROMANFABRIK & Ensemble Modern in cooperation with the restaurant "Leuchtendroter" (Hotel lyf East). As part of Sound Port Frankfurt 2030 - Workshop for Music and Experiment. Supported by the Crespo Foundation.
