MICOR's music is like a movie that was never made - atmospheric, profound, poetic. At the center is actor and musician Robert Besta (e.g. Back in Action / Netflix), whose compositions and lyrics create a fascinating world of sound between indie, jazz and dark folk.

Besta develops songs of haunting emotional density and literary depth. Between quiet intimacy and eruptive force, a live set unfolds that gets under your skin. Music that evokes memories of Tindersticks or Nick Cave, but has something unique, elusive, almost magical about it, is how one critic characterized the songs of the Karlsruhe band Micor. Existential experiences, philosophical references, literary allusions or even very simple love songs can be found in the repertoire of Micor, whose hard core consists of Besta as singer and guitarist, Stefan Breuer on drums, Marcus Franzke on keyboards and trombone and bassist Johannes Frisch. All of them are renowned musicians with backgrounds in jazz and rock, classical music, improv and pop. With MICOR, they have found a multi-layered, atmospherically dense, unmistakable and powerful band sound. Their songs amaze with their rough edges, yet quickly endear themselves to the ear and heart as good acquaintances.

In 2024, MICOR was featured in the final episode of the ZDF feature film series "Mandat fürMai" with four songs and could be experienced live in action.

In November 2025, the first M I C O R album produced by Daniel Benyamin (SEA + AIR) and Craig Gray (LAZY GIANTS) was released.

The video for the song "Redemption" has already won several awards, including at the Montreal Independent Film Festival, and most recently won the Vienna Independent Film Festival 2025 in the Music Video category.
