MAGIC OF MOVIE XVIII

In the organizer's words:

"Without John Williams, bicycles don't really fly, nor do brooms in Quidditch games, nor do men in red capes. There is no 'power', dinosaurs don't walk the earth, we don't marvel, we don't cry, we don't believe" - Steven Spielberg said this about the greatest film music composer of our time, John Williams.
Movie scores from his pen can regularly be heard, or rather experienced, in the MAGIC OF MOVIE series, because film music from well-known blockbusters always appeals to more senses than just the ears, just as Spielberg says.

In what is now the 18th edition of our film music series, the program will include classics of screen sound as well as soundtracks from Hollywood productions of recent years and decades. The Deutsche Philharmonie Merck, probably the most experienced orchestra in the region when it comes to film music, will be conducted by Kiril Stankow, first conductor at the Staatstheater Kassel and a proven connoisseur of the art of cinema sound, who also conducts the "Film in Concert" programs at his theater.
