Making Space

In the organizer's words:

Why do we define where one ends and the other begins? Why are some boundaries fluid and others made of hard concrete?

An open movement workshop at the Center for Art. Together we will explore the concept of boundaries through dance. How do I position myself in relation to the space in which I find myself? Or the people around me? What distance feels good? How much space do I claim for myself? And how do we make decisions about this as a group?

Boundaries are part of our lives, for better or for worse. How can we exert influence as a community? This workshop is intended to serve as a communal testing ground in which we can try out and experience empathy, responsibility and support alone, in pairs and as a group. Based on Paulina Bedkowka's new dance production "Crossing Borders" (AT), this movement workshop can be seen as a physical prologue to the performances. The dance piece can be experienced at the ZfK on December 6 and 7, 2025.
