Marialy Pacheco is one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz piano, playing with an unmistakable sound between Cuban tradition, classical influence and modern jazz language. Her playing combines rhythmic clarity with great tonal subtlety and always makes the different influences transparent without playing them off against each other. As the first woman to win the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition, she combines virtuosic ease with an extraordinarily personal poetry of sound, in which technical skill is always at the service of musical expression. Collaborations with artists such as Omar Sosa, Max Mutzke, Francesco Tristano, Rhani Krija and renowned orchestras demonstrate her enormous stylistic range - from intimate solo and duo settings to symphonically expanded programs such as "Danzón Cubano" or current Bach interpretations with chamber orchestra.
