The path to life: a happy family. A young couple, two children. The world seems to stand still when the husband and father dies unexpectedly. The young widow refuses to accept the sudden death of her husband. She believes in the miracle that he will return to her. And then he returns. But nothing is as she had hoped. Nothing will be as it was. Marion Tauschwitz's autobiographical novella is a book about grief and saying goodbye, about comfort and love, about courage and hope: a turn towards life.

The Heidelberg-based writer Marion Tauschwitz has published highly acclaimed biographies, including Ich habe keine Zeit gehabt zuende zu schreiben (2014) about the Jewish writer Selma Merbaum and - as a close confidante of the poet Hilde Domin, whose executor she is - Hilde Domin. That I can be who I am (2012).
