Hansjörg Weißbrich is one of the most renowned film editors in Germany. He will talk about his work in a master class with film journalist Moritz Holfelder.
Weißbrich has worked on more than 70 feature films and has been honored with numerous awards, including three German Film Awards. He most recently won this award with SEPTEMBER 5 by director Tim Fehlbaum, for which Weißbrich also received the prestigious Independent Spirit Award and many other prizes. His career awards also include the German Television Award, the German Camera Award, the Filmplus Editing Award and many more.
Weißbrich has been the editor of films by Maria Schrader (SHE SAID, UNORTHODOX, etc.) and Hans-Christian Schmid (NACH FÜNF IM URWALD, REQUIEM, etc.) for many years. He has also worked with Danish Oscar-winner Bille August (NIGHT TRAIN TO LISBON), Oscar-winner Florian Gallenberger (COLONIA DIGNIDAD), Margarethe von Trotta (INGEBORG BACHMANN - JOURNEY TO THE DESERT), Petra Volpe (THE DIVINE ORDER, HEROINE) and many more. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy.
