Mata Voices & Die Pfefferschoten

In the organizer's words:

mata is an a cappella women's ensemble that was founded at the Maastricht Conservatory in 2019. The five singers - Ariane Baur, Lorena Dürnholz, Tabea Koloska, Marie Weis and Marie Pack - have been creating an unmistakable sound characterized by jazzy harmonies, classical virtuosity and pop lightness with their very own arrangements and compositions ever since.

mata stands for music that moves - daring, curious and full of energy; at the same time pure, profound and full of warmth. The voices of the five women merge into a dense sound in which each singer shines with her very own vocal color.

After numerous appearances in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and the first single releases, their first EP VIJF was released in early 2024. With five songs in five languages, the five singers talk about five different phases of life, touching the hearts and minds of their listeners in a very direct and personal way.
