Matinee im Rahmen der Ausstellung zu Ida Dehmel

We cordially invite you to attend the matinee on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 11:30 am! The event marks the start of the supporting program accompanying the exhibition "Ida Dehmel | 1870-1942: Her life, her time | On the founding of GEDOK 100 years ago".

Ida Dehmel was not only a muse of the artistic and literary world, she was also committed to women's rights and women's suffrage and founded the GEDOK in 1926. Her aim was to support women artists of all disciplines. As a Jew, Ida Dehmel had no chance of escaping the Nazi regime during the National Socialist era - she evaded her imminent deportation and murder by committing suicide. The exhibition aims to honor Ida Dehmel's commitment and life's work and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the GEDOK.

Ricarda Rommerscheidt and Simone de Saree offer an artistic examination of Ida Dehmel, with the short film and the performance "GESPRÄCH MIT IDA - GESPRÄCH MIT VIELEN" opening up a fragmentary dialog based on words and movement.
