Matthäus-Passion

In the organizer's words:

The Madrigal Choir and a baroque orchestra from the Institute for Historical Performance Practice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich (HMTM) bring Johann Sebastian Bach's St. Matthew Passion to the stage of the Isarphilharmonie. The solo parts will be performed by students from the vocal classes. Prof. Martin Steidler, Professor of Choral Conducting and Artistic Director of the Madrigal Choir since 2008, will conduct.
The performance of the St. Matthew Passion is one of the university's most important concerts in 2025 and an example of the interdisciplinary work between different classes and departments, which is highly valued at HMTM.
