Music Monday at the Seecafé
Live music, drinks and a good atmosphere

Every second Monday of the month, the Seecafé at the DJH Resort Neuharlingersiel becomes a musical meeting place. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., regional and national acts bring musical diversity to the stage - from rock and pop to jazz and folk to singer-songwriters.

MATTHIAS MONKA
Pianomen of the North

Matthias Monka was already musically encouraged as a child. At the age of six, his mother gave him a piano against his father's wishes, and at the age of eight he took piano lessons for a short time. In 1981, he formed his first band with school friends, in which he sang. In 1984, he played the keyboard in a rock band for the first time. He was by far the youngest member of the band and gained his first live experience in clubs and at live festivals. At this time, he was also writing his own songs and developing his vocal talent.

He also began to play the drums. He also played in the band "die rasenden Romantiker" for a time. After band projects, he founded Triplepack in 1998. The trio mainly covered classics from the pop/rock genre and rearranged them to swing. Triplepack also stages its own songs written by Monka and releases them on two albums together with well-known titles. At the same time, he sang and played with the world beat multi-instrumentalist Harry Payuta, with whom he released the album "Departure".

Monka was also active as a lyricist. Together with Leslie Mandoki, he wrote the German lyrics for the soundtrack to Disney's Bear Brothers. The soundtrack features Phil Collins and Gracia, among others. Monka also appeared as a singer, he sang the track "Willkommen" with Phil Collins. Together with producer Stefan Heil, he released the album "Zu Zweit" online with the accompanying single "Durch den Regen". Around the same time, he also wrote lyrics for Peter Maffay with Mandoki.

Matthias Monka conjures up a grandiose, exciting, spontaneous and musically incomparable evening for the guests. Musically versatile! Sometimes moving, sometimes rocking, sometimes unobtrusive but always fully there. And when the audience asks him, he doesn't take long...
