Max Prosa | Der Garten Tour 2026

"The Garden" is the name of Max Prosa's new album and is a musical place to linger. In it, people meet angels, donkeys meet kings, the Pope meets Johnny Cash, the goddess night swallows the sun, eternally waiting people miss each other and unequal lovers find each other. As a listener, you are always right in the middle of it all after just a few words, because there is something about Prosa's characters that makes them universal. One sits in the great cabinet of figures of the self. This time, the music comes in the guise of a band with strings. Max's long-time companion Magnus Bang Olsen has arranged this special soundscape, a mystical carpet on which voice and lyrics can take effect. The often underlying force of drums and bass is reminiscent of Prosa's early days. He toured with his first band in tow with Clueso on his "An und für sich" tour and then later on his own across the country. He has never stopped since then, he says himself.

After a long phase of small line-ups, he is now set to go on tour with a band again. Magnus Bang Olsen will be joined by Leonie Geißler and Ben Anderson. "I've really missed the rousing power of a band in recent years," says Prosa and anyone who knows him knows that, in addition to the "Der Garten" songs, he certainly has some old classics on board and almost certainly some things that nobody expected. "Verschwende Dich", which Hannah Herzsprung interpreted in a movie last year, will certainly be played. Also "Flügel", with which Egon Werler won the TV show "The Voice Kids" in 2022. It doesn't bother him that others have had even greater success with his music than he has. He would play the songs "the way they were written. The paths they take are not in my hands." After the tour in March, there will be a few selected dates with the strings in the summer to bring this aspect of the album to the stage. Not even he himself knows what will happen next. "Maybe a book, maybe music. Only time will tell."
