Electro dance as high culture? Yes, please, with RAVE LUCID, the French company Mazelfreten brings the energy of club culture to the stage - precise, powerful, hypnotic. Ten exceptional dancers let electro, house and techno beats flow through their bodies and create a pulsating ballet of the big city that not only dances, but also tells a story: of community, of freedom, of movement as an expression of pure emotion. ✨

RAVE LUCID is a rousing homage to electro dance - France's first urban dance style, which emerged in Parisian clubs in the 2000s and spread worldwide via the internet. To the intense rhythms of electro, house and techno music, which require tireless concentration and control from the performers with more than 120 beats per minute, ten virtuoso dancers create a unique electro ballet with a highly energetic and captivating choreography, combining the intense beats with precise, graphic movements and celebrating the beauty of electro dance and the power of the community in a pulsating, collective rave.
Mazelfreten is the acclaimed company of Laura Defretin, hip-hop dancer, and Brandon Masele, electro dancer and world champion in this discipline. Since 2016, they have been combining electro and hip-hop culture in their choreographies and creating their very own, unmistakable movement language. Their work is inspired by the world of battles and is shown throughout Europe. In addition to her own shows, she develops choreographies for music videos, advertising campaigns and haute couture shows for major fashion brands.
