"Metropolis"
Silent film by Fritz Lang with live music by Gottfried Huppertz (1887-1937)

Almost 100 years ago, Fritz Lang's Metropolis confronted moviegoers with a dystopian view of an imaginary future: in a futuristic city, people live in two strictly separated classes, the workers and the rich; they are kept in check by a totalitarian power apparatus, robots replace humans, the machine threatens their existence - themes that have not lost their significance.
