Corinna Harfouch, one of the most distinguished German actresses of our time, and Hideyo Harada, the pianist with a "feel for states of mind" (Süddeutsche Zeitung), have come together for an extraordinary project. "Amazing victories of women on battlefields" is the title of the word-music collage, which ingeniously fuses texts by Virginia Woolf and works by Ethel Smyth, the most important British composer at the turn of the 20th century. An evening that tells of the struggles of strong women for their place in society and at the same time gives Dame Ethel Smyth's wonderful musical language the place it deserves.
