The Osnabrück local board of trustees of the German Foundation for Monument Protection invites you to an evening lecture on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 19:00 in the Church of the Holy Cross in Osnabrück, which was designed by Dominikus Böhm. The speaker will be Düsseldorf-based author and lecturer in architectural history Thomas Brandt, who will speak on the topic of "Masters of modern sacred architecture: Dominikus Böhm, Rudolf Schwarz and Otto Bartning". The lecture will shed light on the work, attitude and influence of the three influential architects on 20th century sacred architecture and invites you to an expert exchange in the special ambience of the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche.
The lecture will focus on the Church of the Resurrection in Essen by Otto Bartning, the Church of St. Engelbert in Cologne-Riehl by Dominikus Böhm and the Church of St. Anna in Düren by Rudolf Schwarz.
