With a voice that manages to sound both extraordinarily clear and melancholic, Mel D has the potential to be something surprisingly rare: a singer who can do so much more than just sing.

The young singer-songwriter already attracted attention with her EP Not Crazy, released in October 2024. In September 2025, her debut albumYoung Bones was released on the Two Gentlemen label. On nine beautifully composed tracks full of poetry, between longing and melancholy, Mel D 's versatile yet characteristic voice can be heard - fragile and powerful, haunting and playful, and above all soulful.

The debut albumYoung Bones is a tender embrace and has many emphatic moments in store. Mel D speaks the language of the zeitgeist and sounds timeless. Her unique musical style plays with different pop genres such as indie and alternative. The songs sometimes sound baroque, sometimes jazzy, sometimes soulful, contemplative or inviting. Every single track on this album is an ode to being connected - with the world, with the other person, and above all: with the beauty of music. That is touching.

"The current world seemed to crush me with its countless challenges and it felt like we were running in the completely wrong direction," says Mel D. She doesn't allow herself to be crushed, but transforms her feelings of sadness, but also anger, into creativity. And she gives world-weariness a voice that seduces, comforts and inspires. With her debut album, the young musician sings us towards hope. Her songs are about caring, solidarity, humanity, togetherness and empowerment - and that it's okay to feel how you feel.

Mel D recorded the album in Zurich and Paris and worked with two great contemporary producers: Renaud Letang, who produces Feist, Chilly Gonzales, Lianne La Havas and others, and producer and multi-instrumentalist Dino Brandão. The latter recognized her talent immediately and recorded the first notes in his basement studio in Zurich shortly after meeting her for the first time. He was also the one who suggested her for Faber's band.

Her solo project ultimately came about more by chance, Mel D explains modestly. However, her passion for music and her talent became apparent early on in her biography. Music has accompanied Mel D since her early teenage years, and during her Fine Arts studies in Zurich she founded the electro-pop duo mischgewebe, composing music for theater, film and exhibitions. She then made her eternal nickname Mel D her artist name - a humorous reference to the Spice Girls. Even if her own persona and songs are above all profound and melancholy in tone, there is still room for laughter despite all the profundity. This also makes the musician likeable and approachable.

Anyone who has ever seen her on stage knows what that means. Last year she was on tour with Faber, and since then it has been impossible to imagine the band and major festival stages without her. "The stage is my home," says Mel D and impresses with her incredible stage presence. The thoroughbred musician gives her all on stage, combining her energy and desire to play and experiment with her profound melodies and emotions, which can be felt and experienced by the audience.

Mel D will be coming to the beautiful Nachtasyl on March 12. This will be a very special evening that you should not miss.
