Membrane

In the organizer's words:

Membrane - art exhibition by Elisa Gabelli and Anna Franzen at the Kurfürstliches Gärtnerhaus Bonn.

The title of the exhibition is "Membrane", as both artists deal in their own way with natural organisms and the boundary between inside and outside. This boundary blurs from time to time, the work absorbs its surroundings and lets in light and air (and water). The result is a haptic work, something that remains: A material that absorbs its own traces and thus brings new structures to light.

Natural materials play an important role in their joint exhibition, which includes works made of paper and expansive installations. Elisa Gabelli (*1995 in Paris) shows large-format paper cuts of abstracted natural structures. Anna Franzen (*1996 in Lemgo) has cultivated many combucha mushrooms, some of them larger than life, which she will present for the first time in this exhibition.

The vernissage will take place on 29.08.2025 from 19:00, opening hours are Tuesdays to Fridays 15-18:00, Saturdays and Sundays 14-17:00.

There will be a Kombucha tasting at the vernissage. The artists will be present in person on most days.
