Sebastian Studnitzky's project "Memento Odesa" is a poignant modern-classical homage to the city and its inhabitants in the midst of the Russian war of aggression.
ECHO Jazz and OPUS Klassik prizewinner Sebastian Studnitzky recorded his compositions with the Odesa Symphonic Orchestra under the direction of Volodymyr Dikiy in the Odessa Philharmonic Hall in July 2023. The music reflects the indomitable spirit of a people under siege, capturing the memories of a distant past and the uncertainty of the future. Classical elements and cross-style improvisations merge to create a timeless and poignant music.
Since 2024, 6 concerts have been played in Ukraine and 20 concerts in Germany. The proceeds from the concerts support local aid organizations such as www.childrenofheroes.org.
