Mephisto

The New Globe Theater Potsdam once again presents this extraordinary production with live music: "Mephisto" - a theater production that brings to life the glamorous and dark facets of the 1920s and 1930s in Berlin.

This stage version by Kai Frederic Schrickel, based on an adaptation by the Berliner Ensemble, takes the audience on a journey through time into the bubbling artistic life of Berlin during the Weimar Republic right up to the rise of National Socialism.

With a touch of cabaret and accompanied by an emcee, "Mephisto" leads the audience through a world of theater in which every moment seems like a dance on a volcano. The production came second in the INTHEGA theater prize "Die Neuberin" in 2024.
