Mikis Theodorakis zum 100. | Konzert mit Vocal Concert Dresden

An extraordinary concert for Mikis Theodorakis, who would have been 100 years old in July, will be presented by Vocal Concert Dresden under the direction of Peter Kopp on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 5 pm in the Kreuzkirche Dresden. The concert will focus on Liturgy No. 2 "To children killed in wars" by the exceptional Greek composer.

This deeply moving work, composed in 1982 for the Dresden Music Festival, is an artistic reflection on the horrors of war and a poetic homage to humanity.

Under the direction of Peter Kopp, who himself took part in the premiere of this work as a teenager in the plenary hall of Dresden's town hall and in the later CD recording in Dresden's Lukaskirche with the Dresdner Kreuzchor under the then Kreuzkantor Martin Flämig, the performance experiences a special depth and personal connection.
