The actor and musician Miroslav Nemec is best known to a wide audience as chief detective Ivo Batic alongside Udo Wachtveitl in the Bavarian crime series Tatort. But Nemec is much more than just Batic.
His artistic career began with his great passion, music, which he still cultivates today with the "Miro Nemec Band" and his youth band "Asphyxia". He studied classical music at the Mozarteum in Salzburg before attending the acting academy in Zurich. This was followed by theater engagements at the stages of the city of Cologne and the Bavarian State Theater in Munich, in Stuttgart, at the Frankfurt Opera and at the Munich Kammerspiele. Then came television and, in addition to "Tatort" (1991), countless roles in television films and series. And because he is a witty entertainer, he now brings his talents together on stage for an entertaining literary-musical evening.
In "Miroslav Jugoslav", Nemec tells, recites, reads and sings from his recently published autobiography under this title. Memories of the Croatian rascal and his patchwork family relationships between Zagreb, the Adriatic, Upper and Lower Bavaria in the 1950s and 1960s come to life. He lets the audience participate in his apprenticeship years during his music and acting studies in Salzburg and Zurich and his theater work on numerous stages in German-speaking countries. A successful story of integration in Germany. Great material and lots of wonderful anecdotes!
And who better to frame the evening musically than someone as entertaining a guitarist, singer and piano player as Miroslav Nemec?
