What was discussed during the negotiations on compensation for lignite operators? How much water do large corporations consume? Which lobbyists does the German government meet with?
The aim is for participants to understand issues relating to environmental and climate justice as a question of freedom of information and to learn how they can use FragDenStaat to make inquiries and, with our support, conduct campaigns and lawsuits.

No participation requirements, initial experience and research or campaigns desirable.

About FragDenStaat:
Everyone has the right to information from politics and administration. FragDenStaat helps you to assert your rights. You can submit a request via Fragdenstaat.de and we will forward it to the responsible authority.
FragDenStaat is the central civil society contact point for freedom of information in Germany. We bring information to the public that was previously gathering dust in filing cabinets. Whether lobbyist emails, environmental reports, meeting minutes or calendar entries: FragDenStaat helps to free and publish them with the help of freedom of information laws.
We sue:
When public authorities unlawfully keep information secret, we enforce freedom of information in court or help others to do so.
We research:
Come across something exciting? We dive deep into various topics, request explosive documents and publish investigative journalistic research. We publish investigative research using exclusive information from Freedom of Information Act requests.
