Monday Shorts

In the organizer's words:

To the theater on a Monday night? No question about it! We are looking forward to continuing the "Monday Shorts", where artists and employees present specially designed programs on our small but beautiful stage in the theater restaurant. There will be plays, songs and readings. There are joint events with other Lübeck cultural institutions as well as improv shows, readings and quirky performances. The ever-popular "Kostproben" will also continue to sail under this flag: during the premiere week, we give an insight into our rehearsals and the directing teams talk about their concepts. And the same applies in future: admission is free.

March

The Monday Shorts in March begin with an interdisciplinary collaboration: members of the music theater ensemble and actors will present Voltaire's 18th century satire "Candide", which is based on Leonard Bernstein's operetta of the same name. On 09/03, Anna-Lena Hitzfeld invites guests from Lübeck to a feminist Kampftag recap. For the urban space project "Zombies!" we invite a test audience of a maximum of 50 spectators to the Kaisertor on 16/03. (Free tickets are available at the box office.) The tasting of Knut Winkmann's confrontation with the band Nirvana will take place, as usual, in the Kammerspiele. And on 30/03, Lukas Huber, Marianne Schuppe and Alice Belugou will perform their chamber opera "only"; completely without opulent costumes and breakneck arias.

April

In April, we offer you an insight into the production "Hand in Hand". Author Albrecht Metzger has written a monologue about love, ageing and loss for actor Andreas Hutzel and director Malte C. Lachmann will stage it in the intimate atmosphere of our studio stage. Please note that due to the limited number of seats for this tasting, we will be issuing tickets at the box office. On 20/04 the former forest director of the Lübeck city forest, Lutz Fähser, will be our guest. Accompanied by texts about forest solitude and forestry, we will talk to him about the production "Wald". On 27/04, Andreas Hutzel and Rebecca Indermaur will take us on a musical journey to the Scottish Highlands and the "Emerald Isle" of Ireland.
