A visionary performance staged by two leading choreographers from different continents: carried by global rhythms, "UNTIL THE BEGINNINGS" combines eight dancers from Senegal, Germany and France with musicians from the fields of percussion and spoken word to create a powerful dialog about the nature of hospitality.

Giving, taking. Arriving, letting go and experiencing boundaries: The ensemble embarks on a journey to deconstruct the concept of "home" - in an interplay of encounters, ruptures and new beginnings. In this web of transcultural movement, it explores the possibilities of a common groove.

Central impulses for the work are political entanglements that criminalize hospitality worldwide, philosophical approaches by Jacques Derrida and Anne Dufourmantelle as well as images of utopian communal spaces.

Directors Alesandra Seutin (former artistic director of the École des Sables, Senegal) and Stephanie Thiersch (artistic director of MOUVOIR, Germany) weave a choreographic tapestry from their artistic and cultural worlds that poses questions, shakes things up and challenges. A melancholy contemplation that also gives joy and confidence.
