To keep the suspension elements of a modern MTB as supple as on the first day, they need regular maintenance. Most manufacturers recommend a small service after 50 hours of operation, but in practice an annual service has proven itself. During the so-called small fork service, the fork is disassembled to the extent that dirt that has penetrated over time is removed and the oil responsible for lubrication is changed. At the same time, the foam rings are cleaned and freshly impregnated with oil, which significantly improves the fork's response. The air chamber of the shock is opened accordingly and all the relevant seals in the air chamber are replaced as required and reinstalled freshly lubricated.

In addition to the practical maintenance work, the basic functions of a modern suspension system (suspension and damping) are explained in the course and tips on setting the various parameters (sag, air pressure, rebound and compression damping) are given.
