Museums-Menschen

In the organizer's words:

Photographs by Ulrich Fischer:

People in museums are the subject of Ulrich Fischer's work. In his predominantly black and white works from 2022 to 2025, he observes museum visitors in the field of tension between exhibition objects and museum architecture, creating new, surprising views and moments. This relationship between people, art objects and space forms the central theme of the internationally produced photographs.

They invite the viewer to see in a new and deeper way, because the museum object is placed in a different context through perspective, light and depth. Distance disappears, closeness and identification become possible.

In addition, spontaneous and fleeting moments are captured quickly. The photographer seems to follow the visitor and finds images of which he previously had no idea. After a few seconds, the exciting constellation can be irretrievably over. The motif dissolves.

With this exhibition, Fischer expands the genre of "street photography" to include "museum photography". An invitation to fresh perspectives and unseen moments.
