My Friend Peter stirs up dust and mischievously blows it into the faces of a willing audience. The mastermind behind this glare is multi-instrumentalist Benedikt Brands from Graz. He is accompanied live by Patrick Windischbauer (bass), Paul Probst (guitar) and Maximilian Zeller (drums). My Friend Peter has already shared the stage with Holy Wave, Fenster and Molly. The debut albumSPEAK was released in 2020 and the instrumental album Shuffle Waffle Muffle Duffle and Other Stories Volume 1 in 2021 via Numavi Records. In 2022, My Friend Peter celebrated the 5th anniversary of the outstanding album In Between (2017), which was released on vinyl for the first time with La Pochette Surprise Records from Hamburg and Numavi Records from Vienna.

After that, it was quiet around My Friend Peter - a deliberate break in which there was room for reflection, further development and new creativity. During this time, Benedikt Brands visited the creative retreats of artist friends to develop songs and sounds that ultimately led to the new album Promises. The result is a work that explores new musical spheres and has also evolved linguistically.

Promises will be released in fall 2025 on Numavi Records and marks a new chapter - full of depth of sound, emotional openness and with the promise of drawing long-time fans and new listeners alike into the hypnotic sound world of My Friend Peter.
