Green shares, investments in reforestation, wind power or renewable energies, microloans in countries of the Global South - the market for socially and environmentally responsible investments is growing every year. It is not easy to get an overview of the various products. It is not always clear whether the investment offer will achieve a positive impact as well as a return and which sustainability criteria are actually applied to the product. In addition, there is often the unanswered question of what the bank or credit institution does with your money.

The lecture on November 11 at the VHS Münster provides an overview of sustainable and ethical investments in German-speaking countries and gives examples of alternative options. The focus will be on the social impact of an investment. The cooperative Oikocredit as an impact investor will be presented as a possible alternative.
