Nachtwandel im Jungbusch

The NACHTWANDEL art and culture festival once again invites you on a special journey of discovery through Mannheim's diverse Jungbusch district for two evenings. On both evenings, visitors can expect a colorful program with numerous program items.
The program of the 19th Nachtwandel is a joint effort by local artists, district associations, residents' initiatives and social institutions. Together, they offer a variety of exciting program items at well-known and unusual locations. Stores, backyards, warehouses and locations such as the harbor promenade on the connecting canal or the neighborhood square will be filled with culture: from exhibitions, performances, street actions, films and live music, to light installations and readings, to international specialties at a wide variety of stalls. The harbor church and the mosques also invite people to come and meet. There will also be a children's program on Saturday from 16:00. Institutions such as the Popakademie will be there as well as the independent scene, galleries and restaurants. Nachtwandel is a successful example of a nightlife characterized by creativity and culture, which is characterized by atmosphere and relaxed get-togethers and at the same time promotes the night economy, which is creatively co-designed by the local gastronomy for the cultural festival. At the same time, the social institutions demonstrate their presence and social cohesion. The Nachtwandel thus becomes a showcase for the creative potential and social interaction of the neighborhood - a living example of successful integration and cultural participation.

No admission - but a solidarity contribution with sustainable added value:
Admission to Nachtwandel is free - a central component of its open philosophy. Nevertheless, the festival is dependent on support: A voluntary solidarity contribution of €5 (or more if you like) helps to cover the considerable costs for security and infrastructure. As a sign of participation, all supporters receive the official Nachtwandel reusable cup. This not only enables deposit-free consumption throughout the entire site - where glass is prohibited for safety reasons - but also actively contributes to environmental protection. The cups can simply be left in the collection boxes provided at the end of the event and will be used again next year.
