In the organizer's words:

Everyday heroines and beings with supernatural powers have something in common: they want and need to achieve the extraordinary. They explore unknown terrain, discover ancient wisdom, encounter unknown creatures and face threats.

The exhibition "SHEROES. Comic Art from Africa" at the Weltkulturen Museum Frankfurt provides an insight into Africa's diverse comic scene. A growing group of young creatives are using their comics to contribute their voices, experiences and demands to global society. They address the important issues of our time and create images of the future, recount (pre-colonial) history, draw on cultural myths and symbols and address social and ecological challenges. "SHEROES" inspire a young performance ensemble in the exhibition to create their own close-ups of current upheavals: What do we take with us into a better future? What will be left behind? What would happen if we realized that reality really can be changed?
