They live in the same house, but in different worlds. Daniel is an actor, a superstar, spoiled by success. His luxury loft in the renovated old building is chic, as is his wife. The nanny looks after the children, the private secretary takes care of the appointments. The trip to London for an audition for a role in the next blockbuster is perfectly prepared. There is a little time for a quick coffee in the pub on the corner before the cab arrives.

There sits Bruno, an inconspicuous contemporary, overlooked by life. His rented apartment in the rear building is in need of renovation. He lives alone, his days are determined by his shift work. But that means he can sit in the pub in the afternoon or receive parcels for the famous movie star next door. But Daniel doesn't know that. He hasn't seen Bruno once in all these years.

That afternoon, the two strike up a conversation and what begins as a harmless pub chat soon takes a surprising turn. Bruno not only knows an astonishing amount about Daniel's films, but also about his private life and his most intimate secrets. Slowly, Daniel realizes his neighbor's perfidious plan for revenge.
