Nevski Prospekt – Ginger

Theater for everyone aged 4 and up

Ives and Jotka have known each other for a long time. Now it's time for them to finally be on stage together. They quickly notice differences: he is a little older, slower and softer. She is young, impetuous, fast and strong. In the play, Ives talks about his dream: he wants to dance like Ginger Rogers in the movie "Cheek to Cheek" again, with feathers and all the trimmings. All he's looking for is a Fred. Maybe that's what Jotka wants to be?

Ginger is the new production by Nevski Prospekt by and with Ives Thuwis and Jotka Bauwens for children aged four and up. Ginger shows that you can be who you are: young or old, gentle or wild, fast or slow, male or female and everything in between.
Ives and Jotka deal with gender issues with great naturalness. They have fun turning the clichés about what is typical for boys or girls on their head and do not judge.
