Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds return to Germany for five open-air shows in summer 2026

For decades, Nick Cave has been regarded as one of the last great romantics of rock music - an artist who sings about pain and hope, apocalypse and redemption with the same urgency. With the Bad Seeds, the multinational formation that emerged from the wreckage of The Birthday Party in 1983, Cave has created a body of work that defies easy categorization: somewhere between gloomy gospel, literary ballad and eruptive rock. 18 studio albums, countless side projects, film scores and literary works bear witness to his inexhaustible productivity.

Cave became known to a wide audience in 1995 at the latest when he sang the duet "Where the Wild Roses Grow" with Kylie Minogue - a "murder ballad" that was both morbid and poppy at the same time. But the Bad Seeds' true greatness is revealed on stage. This is where the songs unfold their full power: sometimes whispering and fragile, then unleashed again, almost violently. The audience is part of a ritual in which Cave, often with outstretched arms at the edge of the stage, develops an almost biblical presence.

Following the success of the acclaimed album "Wild God" and a completely sold-out tour in 2024/25, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will return to Europe in summer 2026. More than thirty concerts are planned, from Ireland to Greece and Lithuania. An exclusive UK home show will take place in Brighton, Cave's adopted home, on July 31. A highly symbolic moment that is likely to make history for fans and the city alike.

But Germany can also look forward to a series of special evenings: between June and August, the band will perform in Lingen (Open Air at the EmslandArena), Berlin (Waldbühne), Dresden (Filmnächte am Elbufer), Munich (Königsplatz) and Bonn (Kunst!Rasen), among others. Anyone who has ever seen the Bad Seeds live knows that this is about much more than rock music. They are nocturnal ceremonies in which pain and comfort, darkness and light are interwoven. An experience that critics regularly describe as "immensely moving" and "completely overwhelming".

The summer of 2026 promises to open another chapter in the extraordinary live history of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - with special open-air concerts in Germany that fans should not miss.
