Hello everyone, today we are announcing a very special tour. It's my very first solo piano tour where I'll be playing new compositions that you'll discover over the next few months, along with some old pieces from my latest album. It's going to be very cozy and intimate, and we want you to be very close to me when I play. The setup is very simple, but there will be lots of little gimmicks and surprises with me and the piano. Tickets are on sale from today. See you soon!

A century-old grand piano, a secluded house in the middle of green Brittany, no internet connection and a tape recorder. L'Écho de Bretagne, the new EP by Niklas Paschburg, which will be released by the Nettwerk Music Group in fall 2025, is a solo piano album that is as essential as it is intense. An album of silence, space and slowness. Music that strives not for effect, but for truth. While his previous work Mexico Alps (2025) was the first time that the German composer and producer created an ambient electronic album without his preferred instrument, L'Écho de Bretagne is a direct reaction to this absence of the piano. "It was precisely the absence of the piano that created the need for this new album, which puts this instrument, which is so important to me, at the center and lets everything else fade into the background," explains Niklas.

Born in 1994, Paschburg has followed a musical path over the years that is closely linked to travel, nature and introspection. With "L'Écho de Bretagne", the Hamburg-born, Berlin-based musician continues his exploration by seeking solitude in nature - similar to Spitsbergen - but this time with an even more radical decision: he disconnects completely from the internet and switches off his computer and smartphone for a while to immerse himself completely in his new music. "I rented an old cottage in Paimpol in Brittany, where I knew there was a grand piano," he explains. "When I got there, I realized that the piano was not only over a hundred years old, but also of an unknown brand, never restored and quite difficult to play. But that gave it a unique character, and I didn't give up. Sure, it was an instrument that was left to its fate, I couldn't play anything too fast. But how fascinating was that? I'm convinced that setting limits instead of giving yourself complete freedom when composing can be an extraordinary source of inspiration."

L'Écho de Bretagne was recorded entirely live; the tracks are all improvised, with all their imperfections. This approach results in a pure, deeply organic and authentic sound that has been deliberately preserved to give the listener the feeling of a live performance in their own living room. The touch of the fingers on the keys, the touch of the wood, the tension of the vibrating strings - all this becomes part of the music. There is no construction, only expression. The result is a collection of floating melodies and atmospheres that reflect a state of mind. A refuge from the hectic pace of time. A break from the world.
