The performance will be followed by a discussion with the director and actresses.
The Schwanen Waiblingen - together with the Women's Council - invites you to reflect, discuss and think further: when the theater group Grenzgänge performs their play "Nora Nora Nora" at the Kulturhaus Schwanen on March 27, 2026, literary history meets current social issues. What Henrik Ibsen addressed in "Nora (A Doll's Home)" in 1879 unfolds an unexpected contemporary energy in author Eva Rottmann's new adaptation: how free is the woman of today really - between care work, career, pandemic experiences and debates on equality?
One stage, three women, countless facets of one question: how does the modern 1000-option society deal with the realization that it is a long way from an equal distribution of roles?
What Henrik Ibsen negotiated 140 years ago with the female character Nora, equality in society and the family, has taken on a new urgency. In the field of tension between feel-good oasis, powerlessness, justice and appreciation, the theater group Grenzgänge thinks up new narratives and puts positions, relationships and the view of one's own life to the test. "Perhaps you are the freest woman of us all. Nora, Nora, Nora. I would love to know what has become of you. Repetition masquerades as the miraculous. And we sit on the balconies and applaud." In the face of millions of systemically relevant women, the question arises: what do we need to think about a new distribution of roles?
"Nora, Nora, Nora. We are not one and the same person. We are possibilities. Perspectives on radical self-discovery."
