In the organizer's words:
What does contemporary music sound like? How is it created in the rehearsal process? And what are the difficulties involved? We will explore these questions during a joint rehearsal and concert visit for families. Together we will attend a dress rehearsal of Ensemble 404 - an ensemble that takes great pleasure in technology and sound experiments. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask the artists involved questions and find out more about their work. After a short break, we will attend the ICMC HAMBURG 2026 lunchtime concert and experience Ensemble 404 once again: this time on stage. The difference between rehearsal and concert can be observed directly.

About the ICMC & Off-ICMC
The International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) is coming to Hamburg-Harburg. Every year for over 50 years, artists, musicians and scientists from all over the world have come together at the ICMC to explore the interplay between music and digital technologies. The Off-ICMC will take place from 11 to 16 May 2026: the free accompanying program on the topic of "Music in our digital age".
Selected concerts, workshops and installations from the conference are also open to the public!
