The heart of the Kinderkunsthaus is the open program. The wide range of activities in the creative workshop and media lab can be used individually by all visitors. Whether with friends, parents, grandparents or siblings - experimenting and creating is great fun at the Kinderkunsthaus. The open program is aimed at artists of all ages, with individual attention paid to ensuring that no one is under- or overchallenged.
In the large workshop of the Kinderkunsthaus, you can explore our media lab, experiment with monotype and free painting and usually make stop-motion animated films. We also offer two other creative activities on each date, which change from time to time. Let us surprise you!
The open program is designed for 2 to 14-year-old children with an accompanying adult. A supervision ratio of one accompanying adult for every four children must be guaranteed. Children and young people aged 10 and over can also visit the Kinderkunsthaus on their own for up to 2.5 hours.
For this we require a declaration of consent from a parent or guardian. You can find this on the Kinderkunsthaus website.
Workshop
In the Kinderkunsthaus workshop, children paint, draw, print, shape, construct, build and much more. A wide range of design themes and techniques offer children and their accompanying adults various opportunities to be creative. The children are also encouraged to realize their very own ideas. In any case, the little artists go home with special, self-designed objects that they can be proud of.
Media lab
Filming, photography, illustration, writing and layout are all carried out in the media lab at the Kinderkunsthaus. Here the children can discover the digital world for themselves. They learn how to use the computer in a playful way and can usually create their own animated films. The resulting films can be viewed on YouTube within a week. Our book corner invites you to be inspired, go in search of drawing templates or simply enjoy browsing.
