Öffentliche Führung: Katarzyna Schieweck führt durch die Sonderausstellung „Schlesisches Theater. Geschichte und Gestalten“

The special exhibition "Silesian Theater. History and Shapes", which was created in cooperation with the Silesian Theater in Katowice, sheds light on the eventful history of the theater, which was founded in 1907 and is closely intertwined with the geopolitical development and linguistic characteristics of the Upper Silesia region. In addition to the historical context, people associated with the theater are introduced, costumes from selected performances are presented and excerpts from productions are shown. The exhibition is complemented by photographs and architectural diagrams. Loans from the Historical Museum in Katowice, a 3D model of the building made especially for the exhibition and an inviting reading corner provide a glimpse behind the scenes of this traditional venue.

During the guided tour led by curator Katarzyna Schieweck, the special exhibition is explained and explored together.

Cultural significance, thematic focuses and the history of the theater building in its historical context - all of this is highlighted in the special exhibition "Silesian Theater. History and Shapes", which tells the eventful story of a place that has served as a cultural anchor point in Upper Silesia for 117 years.
