Without words

by clients of the Augustinum Oberschleißheim and former pupils of the Carl-Orff-Gymnasium Unterschleißheim

The play Without Words tells the life stories of two hearing-impaired people. One of them, Helmut, was murdered by the National Socialists in 1941 due to his hearing impairment. Felix was a pupil at the Carl-Orff-Gymnasium in Unterschleißheim, studied history and researched Helmut's biography. Using autobiographical texts and researched sources, pupils from the Carl-Orff-Gymnasium and clients of the Augustinum workshops developed an impressive play. The in-house production premiered in December 2022 and won 3rd place in the nationwide competition andersartig gedenken on stage. On 8 March 2024, the play was invited to become an official part of the NS Documentation Centre's educational program.

The performance will be accompanied by a sign language interpreter. The performance will be followed by an artist talk.
