Reading with the author Christopher Kopper
Olga Benario - Jewish, communist, agent.
Her life exemplifies the struggle of a woman who stood up against fascism, capitalism and oppression in the "age of extremes" - and paid for it with her life.
In his biography "Olga Benario. A Short Life in the Service of the World Revolution" (2025), historian Christopher Kopper paints a picture of a woman who did not submit to the political and social constraints of her time. Based on new sources, he sheds light on Benario's path from the communist youth movement in Berlin-Neukölln via the Comintern to the prisons of the Nazis.
We would like to talk about this together:
What can we learn from biographies like this for today's feminist struggles?
How are class struggle, anti-fascism and feminism linked - then and now?
And what significance do stories of revolutionary women have for our collective memory and organization?
We are looking forward to an exciting evening with the author of the biography "Olga Benario - A Short Life in the Service of the World Revolution", Christopher Kopper.
