Tide

In the organizer's words:

On and off. Back and forth. Breathing rises and falls like a swell. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. Not only humans, but everything has its own breathing, its own rhythm. Be it in nature or in the tides of civilization. What happens when you develop an awareness of this omnipresent breathing? Which elements are overlooked in the flow of things? And how can we stem the tide of events to make something new visible?

Sophie Haydee Colindres Zühlke and Serhat "Saïd" Perhat explore these questions in their new production. Following their successful dance theater piece "Grey", they and their ensemble embark on an exploration of individual and collective tides. Urban dance meets experimental forms; organic lines of movement meet hard, acrobatic elements. From different dance contexts, the performers' bodies become their own resonating spaces with which the group creates a flow of movement. This sometimes follows personal transformations, sometimes social dynamics. The individual dancers sometimes swim against the current or allow themselves to be carried by it.
