Peter Befort Trio - Latin Music & Jazz

What sets this trio apart is their deep connection to Latin American music. This passion is reflected in each of their performances, where they bring the fascinating sounds and rhythms from Brazil, Cuba and Spain to life.
Bossa nova, samba, salsa, cha cha, boleros and pop songs are combined with their own varied jazzy arrangements to create a special musical experience for the Latin band, which has been in existence for around 20 years. The band's repertoire includes compositions by various South American and Spanish composers such as Tom Jobim, João Donato, Antonio Carmona/Ketama, El Kanka, as well as pieces by the Beatles and Sting.

Peter Befort has been an integral part of the Berlin Latin and Brazilian scene since 1987. He has played in numerous salsa, Latin jazz, bossa nova and MPB formations as a bassist and in his own projects as a guitarist and singer. He has performed with many well-known local and international musicians.

Vladimir Karparov comes from Sofia, Bulgaria and has been playing the saxophone since the age of 12. He studied at the Pancho Vladigerov Academy of Music in Sofia, the Hamburg University of Music and the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music, among others. He has received numerous awards and has performed at various festivals worldwide.

Alexey Wagner comes from Barnaul, Siberia and has been playing the guitar since the age of 10. As a classical guitarist, he won various music competitions in Barnaul and Novosibirsk at a young age. He worked as a concert guitarist at the State Philharmonic Orchestra of the Altai region and as a session musician for radio and television. He studied jazz and popular music at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin.
