Founded in 1995 in the Ruhr area when all the other new psych bands were rattling around. With an outstanding singer, one of the best double bass players in the scene, a clear and superbly played lead guitar and a sensitive (new) drummer, PITMEN play so-called old school psychobilly in a class of its own. At gigs in Russia they have been dubbed Melodic-, in the Ukraine even "Romantic" Psychobilly. Their repertoire includes all their hits such as the cheerful "Christina Applegate", the aggressive "Through With You" and "Just Fakes" and of course the drinking song "Schlucker Billy".
